Managed, redundant cloud storage. Ransomware-resistant by design. No egress fees. No tier complexity. Pick a plan, sign in, forget about it.
No card required
The most common way backup tools fail is that someone with access — a ransomware attacker, a disgruntled admin, a buggy script — deletes the backups before the victim notices. macup Cloud makes that impossible.
S3 Object Lock mode. Not even macup can delete snapshots inside the retention window.
Our client's cloud credentials have no delete permission. A ransomed Mac cannot instruct the cloud to forget.
Maintenance runs on our infrastructure with separate privileged credentials. Your Mac is never trusted to prune.
Inside each snapshot's retention window, your backups are locked in S3 Object Lock compliance mode. The lock is enforced by the storage layer, not by policy — no one can short-circuit it, macup included. Combined with client-side AES-256 encryption, this means your backups survive both sides of the threat: we can't read them, and we can't delete them.
macup Cloud isn't storage with a friendlier logo — it's storage configured for backup specifically. Compliance-mode immutability. Zero egress on restore. Predictable price-per-terabyte that doesn't surprise you the month of a disaster.

Every tier includes every feature — continuous backup, per-set policies, AES-256, the dashboard. Pick the tier that fits your data; scale up any time.
No hard cutoff. If you approach your quota, you get an email. If you cross it, you have 30 days to either upgrade or prune, and existing snapshots stay restorable the whole time. We'll never silently delete a snapshot to save ourselves storage cost.
Every byte is encrypted on your Mac with AES-256 before it leaves. Your encryption key is protected by a passphrase only you know. We see ciphertext; we can't read your backups even under subpoena.
Your snapshots in macup Cloud are stored with S3 Object Lock in compliance mode. Inside the retention window, no one — not you, not macup, not someone who steals your Mac — can delete them. If ransomware encrypts your Mac and tries to wipe the cloud copy, it can't. You restore from yesterday's snapshot and move on.
In the region you selected at signup — United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Canada, or Australia. Your data never leaves that region. Every object is replicated across multiple availability zones within the region and held in compliance-locked immutable storage for the retention window of your tier.
Reads fail over transparently across availability zones inside your region. If your region experiences a sustained outage, restores resume when the region returns. We publish post-mortems for every customer-impacting incident at status.macup.app.
Yes. The Customer Portal has a one-click export that writes your repository out to an S3-compatible bucket you control. Snapshots stay intact — the same restore works against the exported repository. 30-day grace period after migration before the Cloud copy is retired.
Retention scales with tier. Starter and Personal hold 30 days; Plus holds 60; Studio holds 90; Archive and Enterprise hold a full year. Retention is the minimum — snapshots stay compliance-locked for that window before macup's server-side maintenance can prune them.
Yes. GDPR-aligned DPA available on request; CCPA compliance at launch; SOC 2 Type II in progress. Email security@macup.app to start the vendor-review process.
Encrypted on your Mac. Compliance-locked in the cloud. 14-day trial.
